Day Thirteen: Funky Carpet Underpinnings...

This afternoon, Chris and some guys (Stephen Jones, Nathan, and Elijah) ripped out carpet and staples in the living room floor to make way for the new flooring to go in. Not a terribly eventful day, except for the fact that the tile by the front door seems to have been the original floor covering of the entire main level. With concrete underneath. Apparently the subfloor was installed later in order to put the carpet in. Awesome. All gone now, but we will need to add in another section of subfloor.

I left for class with two teenage boys destroying the patch of tile and concrete in front of the door:

Apparently it was the greatest afternoon of their recent history. Note to self: If I ever have things to destroy, let a teenage boy do it and he will be very grateful.

There's not much more to report for today, as Chris went back to work and I spent the day working on teaching and school stuff. Tomorrow is our last day before surgery, so we'll see if we manage to finish the kitchen. Who knows? Could be a successful day.
