After John left, I migrated from the church where I'd been working on the quarterly newsletter and met up with Randy (Christopher's dad) at the house. The guys put together a shopping list, set up our new bed (woot!), and off we went. A wonderful dinner at SmashBurger (BBQ ranch chicken salad anyone? Absolutely incredible...) and a looonng trip to Lowe's later, we came back to the house.
And we stayed there! (What?!)
Christopher's parents got a new bed, so we inherited their old one and it got set up at the new house (because, let's face it - who wants to move a bed twice if you can avoid it?). Last Sunday, we moved the futon over from the apartment, so there's room for all kinds of people to sleep!
This morning, when I left to go print newsletters at the church, Chris and Randy had gotten in the new toilet, the vanity, and were working on the vanity top and the light fixture for the bathroom.
When I got home, I found the light fixture in and the sink faucet working. We headed out to grab some lunch and hit yet another home improvement store (our trips don't ever seem to end). Driving up to the house, we found our dog wandering outside... apparently, she got out through the gate somehow.
The afternoon included Randy grouting the shower, my cleaning, picking up and sweeping the main level, and Chris trimming out the bathroom and coat closet frame. Chris fixed the light in the dining room, Randy moved the outlet for the stove so it now sits flush against the wall in the kitchen, and packed up our things so that we could stay at our apartment again tonight.
It was a very productive day. We are so very, very close.
