Three Months and Counting: A Little Digging...

It's amazing to me that we've owned this home for three months already, as we only moved in about a month or so ago. A lot has happened in this span of time, to be sure. Now that it's warmer, Chris has turned some of his attention at working on the outside of the house.

This house is certainly the 'homeliest' on the block... curb appeal is not so high.

One of the biggest tasks was attempting to take out the giant stump that was sitting in the front yard. We did not expect this to be a big job because it seemed like the wood was rotted enough (and broke under our feet when we jumped on it - super fun). Removal almost was what we expected.

What we really did not expect, however, was to find termites. So... stump removal took a bit longer than anticipated due to spraying, but Chris and Edwin have been out this morning trying to get the last bits removed and the area set up for a little garden round.

Chris bought flowering plants for the round as an anniversary present.

Things have been a little slow around here. Chris has been out of town a few times, we're currently having our first guests, my computer decided it wanted to die (and take quite a few pictures with it - grateful that most of the first sets are on Flickr and this here blog).

But we've finally gotten around to switching out old light switches and outlets, and Chris put in a new six-panel door for the guest bedroom so that our guests could actually shut their door... It's amazing the difference a new door makes.

Upcoming: Before and after posts for the living room, kitchen, master bedroom, and upstairs bath.
