The lower bath was the first thing to get demo-ed because of water/mold issues and, naturally, it is the last major project to be addressed because we have a fully functioning bathroom upstairs. Initially, we did intend to re-do the tile in the shower and possibly a few other things, but we certainly didn't intend to strip most of the bathroom down to its studs, re-route and re-do the plumbing, and so many other things...
But we did (or, I should say, the guys did)... This is what it looked like to begin with, before Ben and Chris took sledgehammers to the thing.
But things, they are a changin'! We have drywall up again (the good, mold-resistant kind), a new vanity waiting to be installed, a frame built up so we can hide the water heater (this might be one of my favorite parts, actually), new tile going into the shower, and a shower door to be installed.
All in all, not bad. It'll still be a while before it's fully functioning because we still need to clean the rest of the original walls, texture, paint, and put up new trim... but we're coming along, and that's neat.
