I did not, however, expect the project (4 panels, more or less) to take me nearly two full work days! It was worth it, however... the change in temperature in the kitchen is quite substantial, just by having a little extra shade.
The fabric is a chintz I found at the same outlet I got fabric from for the bathroom curtain and pillows. I didn't wash the chintz this time, to preserve the bit of stain resistance it has built into the coating. It's not a perfect stripe, which I thought might be problematic, but it surprisingly wasn't, as the stripes were still straight, even though wiggly in design.
Overall, not bad. I didn't go for the full width that they recommend (2.5 times the width of your window), because that's a lot of fabric and money when I don't think it's necessary. They cover our nasty windowsills, help the kitchen look finished, and still let in the light that makes our kitchen feel bright and airy - which I am all for.
Two days work, sure. But I got what I wanted. Not bad at all.
