While the last few days have seemed really productive, today seemed a bit less so - but how it seemed wasn't reflective of what happened. We actually did quite a bit, but it happened more slowly.
I cleaned the kitchen walls and ceiling (yuck, by the way), and patched the holes so that we're one step closer to painting over the deep and saturated red. And then our refrigerator showed up:
That might be my favorite part of the day. I'm super excited to have a full-size refrigerator again, and especially this one. But the refrigerator is made even sweeter by what Chris and John put together:
We have been trying to figure out what to do with the corner in the crazy galley kitchen that goes through to nowhere, and this is what we settled on - a corner pantry with a pocket door so that the fridge still has full clearance. There's plenty of room inside for storing all sorts of things and will be a great way to make our galley kitchen into a U-shape kitchen. We're going to put in some shelves on top of the fridge and on the right side to tie it all together. Yay!
DeeDee and Kristi Hunt also stopped by to help out for a few hours. They were gracious in washing walls and ceilings in the den and laundry areas, and patching holes down there! The result is that the only rooms without patched holes are the bathrooms, and that's pretty awesome.
John finished the last bedroom ceiling and primed another bedroom (only one left), demo-ed the trim and the coat closet on the main level (above), and the guys put up the last ceiling fan that didn't get done yesterday. Abby even came over for the late afternoon/evening and spent some time in her new backyard eating grass and pawing at the door to be let in:
Things are moving along nicely, and as much as we'd like them to keep moving, Chris and I are going to try to take off most of tomorrow. We need a break, and are looking forward to doing something other than being on our feet all day long. Next update: Monday.
