My knuckles are very swollen tonight. The reason, of course, is that I spent most of my 12 hours at the house today painting. And painting. And painting some more. Most of the house is primed now, including half of the ever-red kitchen (Goodbye, Red!) and I even got the chance to start adding some color back into the bedrooms. With a second coat tomorrow and hopefully painting the trim, it will be great to finally have some rooms done!
We had a small army descend this evening. The Henrys brought us dinner and workers (they have five sons). With their help, and the help of Jon Thompson, many small and large projects were accomplished. They primed ceilings and walls, put up drywall on the pantry, fixed parts of our roof (Yay!), took down the medicine cabinet in the upstairs bathroom, cleaned kitchen cabinet shelves and doors, ripped out the rest of the walls and insulation from the downstairs bathroom, helped install a garage door opener, and I'm sure many other things that I'm just not aware of. It was a very productive day, and it was nice to see things advance more.
I'm a mess, I must say. There is paint everywhere. I can't seem to get all of it off, whatever I do. And with my hand swollen and my constant harming of my fingers (long stories), I'm surprised I'm still functioning. If my hand holds out, I'll likely be painting again tomorrow. But, for now, sleeps!
