Christopher did a major installation this afternoon by putting in a new garage door to replace the one that came with the house and that was falling apart. He later peeled off the weird yellow stripes and installed some weather stripping and the whole thing looks fantastic!
Our evening was like another day in and of itself. While Chris worked on figuring out the last bits of the garage door (springs and whatnot), I cleaned and organized the workbench area so that the garage now looks beautiful:
I have to admit, as many of you know me very well, that this was like sticking a kid in an amusement park. It was so great to spend a while organizing and figuring out where things fit and sweeping and... Oh man! It was great.
Also during this time, I painted our other spare kitchen cabinet door front the light brown color we were considering, and we've come to the decision that we are going to paint the cabinets that color. The picture doesn't do the color justice, but I really like it and am excited to get the cabinets painted! Granted, anything seems better than what they look like now... (lower right)
It's later than I thought it would be - I met Chris at the house after my seminar tonight. We worked for an additional three and a half hours and it seemed to fly by (because of the organizing frenzy, of course). We're tired and looking forward to a night of sleep. Yay for sleep!
