As a result, the biggest thing to happen today is that I finished a room! I painted the baseboard trim and the closet and Christopher helped hang the curtain rod so that I could cover the windows so that Elise and John wouldn't be exposed before the neighborhood when they sleep there tonight.
We refer to the finished guest room as "the oasis." When I finished, I just wanted to close the (still broken) door and stay there until the rest of the house catches up to its finished state. Ah, well...
Though it seems super slow at times, we are moving forward in this whole process. Chris and his dad have been working on plumbing and lights and we're hoping to get the kitchen and living room painted so that we can put in the new floor (yay!). John and Elise painted the ceiling tonight (perhaps a second coat in the morning, but the base coat is there). Here's a "painty people" shot for Edwin:
There's a great chance some more things will come together tomorrow. I spent the evening starting to sand kitchen cabinet doors so that we can prime and paint them, and did some ceiling touch-ups and part of the trim in the littlest bedroom. Maybe we'll have a kitchen or a bathroom tomorrow, and they won't look like this:
There's a heck of a lot of destroyed things around here...
